Die Rückseite des Gerätes präsentiert sich wie aus einem Stück gegossen. Während das Gerät dank dieser sanften Formgebung in geöffnetem Zustand angenehm in der Hand liegt, macht es geschlossen einen dezenten und kompakten Eindruck. Durch zweimaliges Tippen auf die Glanzoberfläche des Nokia 6600 lässt sich das versteckte Außendisplay “aufwecken”. So werden dem Nutzer entgangene Anrufe angezeigt. Auch der Alarm lässt sich so abstellen oder ein eingehender Anruf stumm schalten oder ablehnen.

Modernste Funktionen, die man bei einem so kompakten Mobiltelefon kaum erwarten würde, sind der sichere Beweis dafür, dass das 6600 durch mehr als nur sein Aussehen zu überzeugen weiß. Dank integrierter UMTS-Technik lassen sich Fotos und Videos, die mit der integrierten 2-Megapixel-Kamera mit zwei LED-Blitzlichtern aufgenommen wurden, schnell und bequem mit anderen teilen. Auch auf Internetdienste wie Yahoo! Go oder Flickr lässt sich direkt zugreifen.

Das kompakte Nokia 6600 fold findet in jeder Jacke oder Handtasche Platz. Es wird ohne Steuern und Mobilfunkvertrag voraussichtlich 275 Euro kosten. Die Auslieferung erfolgt im dritten Quartal 2008.
